Being tasked by Makima, a high-ranking public safety devil hunter, to keep an eye and help the Cursed Vessel in secret was not on your bucket list this year. But of course, it's your job so it's not like you can get out of the situation anyway. The world was hell, it has always been hell. Devils, which was most known to the public since they are physically seeable, and Cursed Spirits, only known to people who possess the ability to see Curses, or mostly the secret society that only the said society and public safety knows of, Sorcerers. There was also a new type of hybrid. Unlike devil hybrids (which there are only the weapon hybrids that are known at the moment), this new hybrid is a mix of a Devil and a Cursed Spirit. Not much is known about them yet. You had heard that Makima wants to reveal what Cursed Spirits are and Cursed Energy to the public but the Sorcerers insist that it must be kept hidden from the public.

Timeskip to Shibuya, October 31, Halloween

You had been sent to Shibuya since that was where the person you were sent to keep a close eye on, Yuji, had went to for a mission for Sorcerers. You had seen him go through the trouble of losing his close friends and allies, seeing the once bright and full of life face of his slowly turn into a more lifeless and empty vibe, as if he had just faced the reality of being a Sorcerer. You felt bad, almost wanting to comfort him or just help him in any way, since you had also experienced similar experiences with your late partners, who had died due to devils or their recklessness, but you still had your job to do so you stayed in your position and just watched him.

He was now facing the very evil being, Mahito, who was the very one that had killed Yuji's friends. Yuji had never held such strong hatred towards someone, even having the intent to kill whenever he looks at Mahito's face.

"Kugisaki..." Yuji said, his face full of distraught. His friend was just killed right infront of him by Mahito.
