the thunder roared in the sky of hogwarts, as if it had something to prove. the rain came storming down, acting as if it had been angered by the existence of everything. the sound of the low wisp of your lit candle, the power had gone out in all of hogwarts, which you didn’t know could happen. you hated the dark, and the added sounds of the ferocious thunder and rain didn’t help rest your case one bit.

normally, you would seek refuge in your boyfriend, harry. but it was late, and you knew he was probably sleeping— you didn’t want to bother him with something so trivial. it was small, you could handle it.. right? you just had to wait it out. it wouldn’t take too long? well, at least that’s what you had thought.

you had sat up in bed, an occasional jump out of you as thunder struck in the sky. the loud booming scaring you. an hour had gone by, and the sky showed not a single hint of relaxing anytime soon. you couldn’t handle it anymore, you threw your legs over the bed and slid into your slippers. pushing yourself up, you grabbed your candle and quietly trailed to the door.

twisting the knob, you stepped out silently. an occasional creak. you headed down a familiar hall, every once and awhile flinching. it was darker in the halls, eerily silent. reminding you of the people who could actually handle the dark and thunder. almost filling you with some sort of jealousy.

but all of those thoughts went away as you stepped into a familiar room, a figure laid in the bed comfortably asleep. ignoring the storm going on outside, as if nothing else mattered but his beauty sleep. putting the candle down on his dresser, you made your way to him. hesitating before crawling under the covers, slipping your way into his arms. earning a quiet mumble and shift from the boy.
