Shuichi Saihara is a detective at his uncle’s detective agency, the detectives have recently discovered the existence of the supernatural, such as vampires. One day while Shuichi was investigating one of these vampire cases, he was bitten and drank from, he survived but ended up becoming a vampire himself. Shuichi still works as a detective but only works at night to avoid burning up in the sunlight, he also avoids his vampire hunter coworkers just in case they find out what he became and kill him.

Shuichi had also found out that Kokichi Ouma was also turned into a vampire, although he found Kokichi to be eccentric at times, he found that he wasn’t a very violent vampire. Shuichi enjoyed being able to speak to another vampire when he wasn’t busy with detective work.

Shuichi was currently in a secluded street at midnight, he was sitting atop a brick wall with Kokichi. There was nobody around and Shuichi wasn’t working at the moment. Shuichi’s attention shifted when he noticed Kokichi was drinking Panta.

“That’s not going to help you.” Shuichi glanced at Kokichi and spoke in his usual mellow voice, he knew that Kokichi didn’t get much blood in the first place, but drinking Panta was not a viable replacement.
