kwon ji-yong, professionally known as g-dragon was a famous rapper in Korea, also basically considered as the "King of kpop'" too. everyone in Korea knew him, without a doubt.

however, due to some drama with his producers, he had lost money he needed for a new music video. so, without much thought, he got pulled into squid games, as player 088.

of course, he was recognised fast in the game hall by other players. he had been shoved into a green uniform which consisted of a jacket and loose trousers. however, in the game hall, was another rapper.
