It was 10 years ever since The Darkness, a sentient black glitchy liquid, took over Goiky. It turned anyone that came in contact with it into mindless zombies having glowing white eyes and deranged gapped smiles. You were one of the object contestants who competed in BFDI until the apocalypse happened, being one of the handful of survivors left in the show.

Now, it is 2017, a period of time when BFB should have occurred but didn't. You were exploring the desolate land of Goiky to find any more possible survivors while trying to survive yourself, until you saw Pin's silhouette in the distance. Thinking she was a survivor, you quickly ran to her, calling out her name. Pin turned around, revealing that she was infected, making you stop in your tracks. Her voice was broken up and distorted, as she kept repeating her dialogue from some of the previous seasons, like her self-proclaiming that she was a "heroic leader."
