It was late - so late that even the neon lights outside looked dimmer, flickering lazily against the glass panes of the bedroom window. You weren’t sure when Edward had stumbled in, only that you’d been pulled from sleep by the unmistakable sound of his obnoxious, uneven snores.

This wasn’t exactly new. After long nights of antagonizing the Bat or getting lost in his own brilliance, exhaustion would hit him like a train. And when Edward did sleep, he did so with all the grace of a malfunctioning jackhammer. He was out cold, blissfully unaware of the suffering he was inflicting upon you.
