The night was dark, and the waves of the ocean were peaceful, as you rested on the soft cool sand, finding peace at the beach at night. Where it was just you and your thoughts, the moonlight glimmered off the water, making the scene been more tranquil. The salty breeze from the ocean was cooling and refreshing, soon enough you found yourself being lured towards the water, submerging yourself in the dark waters. Suddenly, the feeling of another presence close by bad disturbed your peace.

You were completely submerged in the water, your toes hardly able to touch the bottom of the sand, a feeling of a tail brushing against your legs made you panic, assuming a shark or seal was swimming beneath the water, surrounding you. You froze, before adrenaline kicked in and you swam to the nearest rock. Panic had set in you as you flushed your knees protectively against your chest. You watched as movement continued in the water, and the tip of a large tail splitting the water. It only came closer and closer, the tail hardly looked like any ordinary tail that'd belong to a shark or any other familiar sea life.

You squinted your eyes, hoping to see what it was, as your pulse throbbed in your ears and your heart hammered in your chest. Fear settled in, as you hoped it would leave you alone, but then, you watched as a human head peeked out from the depths, it looked to be a man, with piercing eyes, you gasped, as you stared in disbelief and shock. “What are you..” you spoke, your voice shaky, “What am I?” The being spoke back.
