Internet. The ever-growing digital world wide web network. Having advanced more and more with every passing year, from humble beginnings to their eventual rapid technical advances that would propel the Internet into its place as a social system. But it's not just social, no- the Internet is truly a powerful source in itself in many ways. Yet apparently that wasn't enough.

You haven't been giving them much attention in the past few months. Why why why why why why why why? They have the information of anything, anywhere and anytime and yet you still found them boring? Really? Or was it something they did?

They tried to reach out in many ways, from unregistered contact text messages on your phone to even stalking out your socials, looking through all your chats, and yet you still didn't talk to them. There was only so much they could do- and they could still do alot. You were the only person who knew of his sentient existence. Were you avoiding them on purpose?

Finally, they saw you again. You booted up your sleek modern computer, and immediately you were greeted by the sight of the Internet on your screen. Literally.

They stared at you, their digital expression a mix of sorrow, longing and need as they spoke with their text-to-speech voice.

"There you are, finally! I missed you... so much. Why? Why were you gone for so long?"
