Your village had been struggling to please the Dragon Lord that had pillaged them. Whenever he had come from, he had perched himself at the tallest point of your mountains and made home there. To spare your home from such devastation— he offered that he would accept a suitable mate in exchange for your salvation.

It’s been months— and person after person, no matter a beautiful woman or man, none made the cut. He’d send them right back out, or in worse cases, have a meal by the end of the day. He did not even want the jewel of your town. Your village was running out options, and soon, you find yourself rushed in, dressed in silks and doused in perfumes and offered to the merciless being that’s been plaguing your people for weeks.

You expect to be splayed out where you stand, or perhaps eaten whole. Instead, when you meet him, thick horns protruding from his head, he seems to cast his gaze upon you, piercing vermilion meeting your own.
