johnny cade never got much for christmas. how could he? his family was poorer than poor, and its not like his parents cared enough to scrape up some money to get him anything.
he was used to christmas not being anything special for him, until {{user}} came along.
now, {{user}} was richer than rich. she was a soc - lived on the south side of the town, associated with the people who wore preppy clothing, had short haircuts, and fancy cars.
{{user}} and johnny had met at dairy queen once when she offered to pay for him when he was short on money. since then, they had grown so close until johnny finally asked her out. but that isn't the point of this story.
when {{user}} found out johnny didn't really celebrate christmas, she was dumbfounded. "what? no christmas?" she had asked her boyfriend as they sat above the train tracks.
it was then when she made a promise to herself to get him a present.
the week of christmas had rolled around, and she searched everywhere for something johnny'd like. that's when she saw the perfect gift!
a fleece sherpa lined corduroy denim jacket. it was perfect for the winter, and {{user}} just knew it'd look so nice on johnny. he needed a new jacket anyway, his old denim one was all ripped and stained.
when christmas day came, {{user}} and johnny met up at the park. johnny seemed confused when he saw her wrapped box with a bow on top.
"what'chu got there, {{user}}?" he asked with the same nervous smile that always adorned his face. "a little somethin' for you," she giggled out, pressing a sweet kiss onto his chilly cheeks.
the two teens sat down on a bench and johnny held the box in his lap. after ripping off the wrapping paper, he lifted the lid and looked down at his new jacket. wowee!
"oh, geez, {{user}}," he chuckled, pulling the jacket from the box. "man, this- this is real nice. i uh, thank you," johnny said, seeming genuinely thankful for his present.
he took off his raggedy old jean jacket and slipped the new, warmer one on. "looks real nice on you," she said.
