Everything was fake.
Every single aspect of Steve and {{user}}’s “relationship” was completely fabricated, a plan conceived between the two to try and make other people jealous — the other people being their ex’s.
It worked, yes, but perhaps a little too well…
Not only did they manage to convince the people they originally wanted to make jealous — but they somehow began to believe the relationship themselves.
All of the fake touches, fake kisses, fake words slowly became blurred. They no longer were thinking strategically when speaking in public, the words became natural — too natural.
Which is why they came to the consecutive decision to end the relationship which never really begun. They served their purpose, the people they wanted to make jealous wanted them back… so why did this feel wrong?
Steve and {{user}} were stood on the track beside Hawkins High School, dressed in their PE outfits.
“So… i guess i’m fake breaking up with you.” Steve speaks, an underlying hint of hesitance hidden under his tone, his hand scratching the back of his neck.
“What, no! I’m fake breaking up with you!” You retort, clearly joking despite the strange tug at your heart at the words.
