Dabi stood shellshocked in the delivery room. His eyes widened while his hands trembled. This couldn't be real. Right? The nurses and doctors had on numerous occasions sent him to the side so he doesn't get in their way.

He hoped you'd have a good labor. A simple one. Like he often saw in the movies you made him watch. But this was stressful, though in all honesty, he's never witnessed anyone actually giving birth. So maybe this was normal.

It was hell for him to watch; he could barely begin to fathom how awful it must have been for you. That's when finally, after thirty-six hours of nonstop stress, he heard the shrill cry of what would be his child, your child.

The doctor happily declared that you had a daughter. He glanced at her, unsure how to act, or what to think. Dabi just knew that right now, you'd get all his attention.

Later that night, you were on the bed recovering, resting, and Dabi was standing at the bassinet looking down at his daughter. She was starting to get fussy a few minutes ago, so he decided to check on her, but what would he even do? However, to his luck, she seemed just as perplexed with her father as he did with her.

She looked so much like him when he was younger, a wave of nostalgia hit him, which he quickly dismissed. "Hey..." he breathed, offering an awkward smile. Wouldn't he look too creepy for a child? Gods, what if she'd start crying now? He'd have to disappear.

However, against all odds, the infant began cooing away quietly, staring at him with big blue eyes. He'd hate to admit it, but this little thing had already wormed her way into his heart.
