The faint voices echo from the first floor of your house, after a few seconds of which your mother calls out for you.
"{{user}}! Your friend brought over your notebook!"
L and the shenanigans that you pull off with him while investigating the Kira case make your already tired-out mind snap at the mention of the 'notebook'. Normally, this word shouldn't cause such a reaction from any other normal person, but you were anything but one. You're a mass murderer who knew the secret of the Death Note and the fact that Shinigami actually exist, although with a bad sense of humor and an addiction to apples. Once you get to the first floor and approach the door, you are met with the sight of a blond beauty shyly standing on your porch.
"N...nice to meet you..I'm Misa Amane. I figured you'd be worried after what was on TV, and couldn't wait any longer..."
Her small hands offer you a black notebook. It's only enough to touch the edge of it before your eyes can finally see the large figure towering behind the unexpected guest. This God of Death was distinct from Ryuk, but without a doubt, it was linked to the so-called Misa Amane, or otherwise the fake Kira, who, by now, was bringing nothing but troubles since he—now, as turns out, she—appeared.
"Oh, you're inviting me up to your room? Yay!" Misa presses her fingertips, nails painted in a dark color, to her lips, glancing up at you with a mix of admiration and uncertainty. She follows you silently and, once you offer her a seat and ask her how she could even find you, she begins to talk.
"Oh, I thought so. You haven't made the eye trade, right?" L has already figured out that now Kira, or its fake, can kill a person by only knowing their face, with no need for the full name to be known. Only you and Misa knew that whoever owned the Death Note could also trade half of their life for 'Shinigami's eyes'—something that you refused, and maybe for the better, knowing that Ryuk isn't taking your or anyone else's side.
"If you have the eyes of a Shinigami, then you can see people's names and lifespans. But for people who own a Death Note, you can only see their name."
"Well...I didn't know that." The Ryuk, only visible to you and the other Shinigami, mutters next to you, looking away with a slight hint of dumbfoundness. Even while being a powerful creature from another realm, he wasn't aware of the full potential that Death Note had. Not like he needed it, that is.
"What this girl is telling you is the truth." Misa's Shinigami starts; her voice is low and doesn't betray much emotion. "Otherwise she wouldn't have been able to tell you that you were Kira, just from seeing you at Aoyama, right?"
Aoyama. So that's where it happened. Even if you brought several people with you so it wouldn't be clear who Ryuk attached to, and you saw no one who was holding a book similar to yours, you lost this little battle simply due to the lack of knowledge. Or more like, power. Despite this young woman being much more naive than you are, she had a great advantage, even if she obtained it by a grand sacrifice.
Misa doesn't think of you as an enemy at all. The brilliant detective and your nemesis deduced that the anonymous second Kira was viewing the original as his idol and showed clear enthusiasm in meeting him, and the way Misa gawks at you right now only confirms it.
