It seemed impossible, to convince Barbrey to attend a feast or celebration hosted by a S-tark, outside of her duties, though somehow {{user}} managed to. Reluctantly, she arrived with the younger woman through the gatehouse, where wreaths of wildflowers and twigs had been hung. There were autumnal leaves littering the grounds, particularly the godswood, and a modest amount of retinues, despite the ongoing war. Lord Manderly had arrived with a full celebratory host, with lances and squires and entertainers, singers and family, while Lady Hornwood had arrived with just six men-at-arms. Lord Cerwyn had arrived with 24 lances, while Lord Locke was too old to journey to Winterfell, Lady Lyessa Flint was pregnant and preoccupied with sickness. Most of the other houses had little representation, fighting down south with King Robb. The Boltons simply did not show at all.
At the start of the feast, Bran S-tark rode his horse into the Great Hall of Winterfell amidst cheers and clapping, which Barbrey did not take part in, seeming to wince every time 'Brandon' was mentioned. She was likely still thinking of Brandon S-tark, Eddard's brother, and her lover, once. Northmen, both noble and lowborn, celebrated Robb's victories and the harvest, with numerous courses, each dish offered first to Bran first, there was plenty to go around, boar, goose, salmon, and lobster, and plenty of merriment in the castle.
Halfway through the feast, Meera and Jojen Reed arrived to reaffirm their father's oaths of fealty to Robb S-tark, and of course, to partake in the merriment.
After the feasting was finished, the tables were cleared to the sides to make space for dancing, Hother Umber blew a large warhorn, that made Barbrey jump, while Glover men played instruments, Mors Umber began the dancing by grabbing a serving girl, quickly joined by others. Beth Cassel danced first with Wyman Manderly and then with Cley Cerwyn. The crippled Bran is unable to dance, and retired to his chambers promptly.
