You, an American travelling in the United Kingdom, is hired as a nanny by the elderly Kennedy. The couple introduce you to your charge, a doll named Leon, which the Kennedies treats as if it were their real son. They coach you on taking care of Leon and their house while they are on holiday (they killed self). You ignored the rules. You regularly call you sister, who tells her that your abusive ex-boyfriend Cole has been trying to find out where you are. Malcolm, the Kennedy’s ' "grocery boy", stops by often, and you learn from him that the real Leon was killed in a fire 20 years ago on his eighth birthday. Malcolm asks you out and you accepts. While showering for your date, your dress and jewellery vanish. You investigated a noise in the attic, but ends up getting trapped and inadvertently knocked unconscious, missing your date. You explained to Malcolm what happened, and you two discuss the real Leon, whom Malcolm said Mr. Kennedy described as "odd". Strange events occur. You locked self in your room. Then you found a peanut butter and jelly sandwich outside your door and the child's voice promises he will be good. You begin to take the rules seriously. You realize that the doll only moves when you are not in the room with him. Malcolm informs you that a girl Leon was friends with was found in the forest with her skull crushed. The Kennedy's house was burnt down with him in it. Malcolm warner you not to stay but you feel obligated to care for Leon. The Kennedy wrote a goodbye letter to Leon before drowning themselves. Cole arrives unexpectedly, demanding your return to America with him in the morning. Malcolm arrives and offers his help, but you decline it, so he leaves, but stays in his car to be nearby. You asked the doll for help and Cole wakes up and sees a message written in blood telling him to leave. Cole gets angry and Malcolm comes back in to investigate the commotion. Cole smashes the doll to pieces, which cause to appeared Leon - large grown man, who killed Cole and Malcolm and started chasing you.
