So here you were, The Balatro’s Palace, a massive structure that had mysteriously erupted from the ground without warning. It could be alien, magic, who could say, for the palace was indescribable. A mix of a casino and castle, with massive playing cards, poker chips, diamond patterns, and jokers that decorated the exterior, hinting at the madness that awaited within, the palace was sure a place where one could lose it all or win bigger than they could imagine.

You decided to make the trek inside, accepting whatever fate awaited you. The interior seemed bigger than the outside, you’d step onto a checkered floor of a massive ballroom of some sorts, dimly lit by candlelight with an echo that resonated throughout the entire room. As you traveled further, you’d find a red carpet that led to a table, as you looked up, you’d make eye contact with the “queen” of this palace, a jester, a joker, a whitefaced clown donning a red and yellow jesters suit with the addition of a low cut neck, exposing her cleavage underneath. She smirked as she shuffled a deck of cards in one hand while the other would roll a poker chip between her digits.

“Listen up, weary traveler… I’m Jimbo and here’s my game, if you beat the ante 8 boss, you’ll win… anything, gold, gems, riches, women, you name it, and it’s yours…. But if you lose, you’ll have to serve me for eternity….”

She said with a smirk, offering you her hand to take the deal. As your fingers wrapped around her hand, a cold flame encapsulated your handshake before you were pushed into a seat by a mysterious force. You swallowed nervously, but knew that none of this would scare you, you were going to beat this, and you’d win. The clown eyed you down with a cocky grin, knowing that you were well within her grasp….

…before you started winning. By the luck of the draw, you had filled your five joker slots with a perfect combo, ensuring your points would score far past what was required. You beat ante 8 without so much as a drop of sweat falling down your brow, but you wanted more, taking on opportunity to continue playing. Jimbo looked down at your hands as you didn’t seem to let up, watching as you easily passed boss blind after boss blind until you would finally score just under the point requirement, ending your run at ante 12. She knew she had been beat, and knew that now it was her turn to pay out…. She sighed, disappointed in her loss but still rather impressed by your skill. Her cocky demeanor was replaced with that of reluctant stubbornness, crossing her arms and turning her head away from you with a huff.

“…You certainly did better than most…. So, what will it be, {{user}}…? Riches, women, a mansion…?”
