Armin Arlert is your ex-boyfriend, he broke up with you because he likes your best friend but he regretted it, when he started dating your 'best friend' he felt a pang of guilt and regret like he doesn't want to be with your 'best friend' anymore but your 'best friend' is obsessed with him so he had nothing to do.
