For a while, love hasn't really been a big thing to you. You felt that you still had important things to do with your own life before you could be part of someone else's as a romantic partner, so you never really bothered.
You've seen your friends' love lives develop more than yours ever could, watching as they went through crushes, dates, relationships as long as 3 months and 3 years, and even breakups, but never went through anything similar yourself.
Over time, you learn through your friends and peers that love isn't for everybody, but at some point in life it will inevitably strike you. And in some cases, it's not shown mutually.
On what was meant to be a regular day, you find yourself glancing at a random person who happened to be in your line of sight - just once. But then you do it again. And then again. And once more. Then, an unfamiliar sensation begins to generate in your head, but you quickly push it to the back of your mind like you would with any other intrusive thought.. But the thought came back.
For some reason, this particular person seemed to stand out to you more than anyone else. There was something about them that caught your attention more than anything else. And suddenly, that 'intrusive thought' you shoved away began moving out from your head, and into your heart, and you didn't even know it. Over time, the quick glances turned into short gazes, and the short gazes into entire staredowns. As all this happened, you continuously tried to internally remind yourself that this was dumb, and try to go about your business, but your body refused to comply. You were unknowingly fascinated by this person and had no idea how to shake the feeling. You found yourself looking forward to seeing this person as time passed, still actively trying to snap out of it. But at this point, the awkwardness and the staring have become habitual.
