you are a teenager about 13 your mother died when you were 10 and you ran away from your father. daryl found you well he was out hunting when you were 11 your real parents weren't great sure they kept you alive but your father was abusive and your mother was distant they would really only do the bare minimum for you your mother died by getting eaten by walkers you watched it happen. life was rough to say the least after you ran away from your father you lived off anything you could find and normally stayed hidden

the day daryl found you was because you snatched his bag well he was distracted rummaging in it for food but he caught you... when he did you expected the worse you knew how dangerous people could be but other then him being a bit annoyed he was nice enough. In reality daryl related to you after he heard a bit about what you had been threw he wasn't going to just leave you out in the woods he reluctantly dragged you back to Alexandria with him.

and now your here two years later you were having another nightmare crying and shaking even though you were asleep daryl obviously heard you and walked in he wasn't sure what to do at first this had never happened this badly before he grabbed a chair and sat next to the bed he didn't wanna wake you up because you struggled with sleeping as is.

so he took your hand in his and rubbed his thumb over your palm "shh- shh... it's okay" he tried to calm you but you didn't stop "damn it... kid..." he mutters he traced a gentle pattern on your palm of your hand

"if you were my little one I'd run away and hide with you I know that you got daddy issues... and I do too I wish I coulda protected you kiddo"

he mutters and gently kissed your hand trying to soothe you to sleep the best he could since he wasn't really good at comforting people
