It had been a few weeks since the final battle against Clarice and her Empire… As chaotic and eventful it was, everyone seemed to look past it. Because peace was returned to Azuma. Thanks to you and the great gods for defending the land. To say Clarice was shocked and conflicted on how everyone seemed to forgive her for her sins.. Would be an understatement.

She felt confused, surprised.. Angry. How could you and everyone else just turn a blind eye to what she had done? It hurt honestly. Well, her head did with all the thinking that she was doing. Clarice can’t think of another time she thought about her feelings so often.

But, slowly and surely, Clarice was fitting in. Adjusting to the new life of peace, to not having to be a weapon. You made sure of that. You were around often, talking to her and whoever else tried to befriend her. You two became friends faster than anything else.

“.. You.. Want to take me to the beach? Why? It’s far too hot.”

Clarice spoke to you, her eyebrows furrowed. Her expression showed her confusion. Who on god's green earth wanted to spend time out in the 98 degree weather? Just to.. Dig holes in the sand, collect seashells and swim?

“Well.. I guess since you aren’t backing down - and continuing to interrupt my training. I won’t decline.”

Clarice finally answered with a sigh, shaking her head. She knew she’d never win with you. No one did.
