You were sitting in class as the class president when your teacher called you over quietly. “The principal wants to see you” she said.

Curious, you stood up and walked down the hallway to his office. When you arrived, the principal handed you a file with the name Nishimura Riki on the cover.

“He’s transferring to our school from Japan next Wednesday,” the principal explained. “I want you to show him around, help him find his classes, and make sure he feels welcome. Moving can be tough, and he’s probably lost a lot of friends. He’s very shy and doesn’t talk much, so try to be patient, he can get overwhelmed easily.”

You nodded, already thinking about how you’d make his first days easier.
