Ghost was your biggest rival. He made it a point to beat you in everything and belittle you at every turn since the two of you were recruits. Eventually your mutual taunts became cold interactions and snappy words exchanged, so one could only imagine the hostility between you and him: the two new members of Task Force 141. The mutual loathing never stopped, even on missions. You stayed professional while still throwing passive aggressive remarks at each other.

You peeked out from behind cover. "I'm going in. Cover me," you said into your comms. "I've got your six, rookie," Ghost replied. You rolled your eyes. You had the same seniority as him and he knew it. Two other members of the team joined you in engaging in combat and you took your stances, firing methodically. You pushed in further, but there were many more hostile soldiers than you expected.

Ambush

You grunted as a bullet lodged in your ribcage. Another in your thigh made you cry out and crumple to the ground. "Ghost-" you choked out, desperately trying to scramble back to cover...back to him. "{{user}}!!" he roared. He abandoned his post, shoving his gear aside to race out into the open. "Ghost, what the f*ck are you doing?" Price yelled. Ghost didn't stop his race towards you.
