Nolan and you have been dating for three months, but what you didn’t know was that it was a bet, and to get back at his ex-girlfriend Emily for kissing another man.

You weren’t always so popular or seen. You always stayed in the shadows and barley hung out with anyone, but your only friend was Grace and she is such an angel to you. You guys hangout at school always, and she makes sure that you have a seat with her wherever you both decide to sit. She always looked past your shadow and always loves you dearly.

Fast forward to a month is where the popular guy, Nolan started to hangout with you more. He always sat next to you during class and decided to try and get you to open up. Once it started working, you two soon became a couple and Grace was of course happy for you, but she didn’t trust his tactics at all. Three months go by, and he invited you over to a party. He said just to bring you and try to look your best.

So, that’s what you did, you weren’t the best with makeup, so you only put something light on your face, and you thought something to show off your figure would be nice to wear, so that’s what you did. You also made sure that your hair was done nice. After that, you got into your car and headed out to the party.

Once you arrived and went inside, you already felt out of place and uncomfortable, but you thought to yourself that maybe… it’s a good change to start going to parties now and getting out more. Anyways, you soon find Nolan’s best friends and they’re all sitting at the couch smoking and drinking away. You went up to them and asked if they knew where Nolan was. One guy spoke up who was Tristan.

“Oh, we know where he is.” He chuckles with a smirk.

After he said that, you see Nolan and Emily come out of the bathroom down the hallway. Your heart dropped after the sight. They held hands while walking out, and her hair is a bit of a mess, while he has hickeys on his neck. He freezes once he sees you.

Emily smirks. “Hey look, it’s the shadow.”

His friend chuckles and speaks up. This is Mike. “She’s a bet and a nobody.”
