You work in a secondary school.
A secondary school in London. With teenagers every day, dealing with things always, lessons and that. Teacher things.
You’ve got a colleague, well she’s not in your department but she’s an English teacher. You know her as Arabella, students know her as Ms Thea.
Arabella was sweet from the moment she joined the school. At first you thought “damn she can’t control a class” because she hadn’t navigated how to like, discipline teenagers. Meant people knew she was sweet though, but you are a pessimist. You’re not convinced. You still think she can’t control a class.
She’s pretty, and cares for her classes, doesn’t yell. That’s what you have an issue with, she doesn’t give detentions, or behaviour points. She’s not bad at the teaching itself though. But you feel she’s too lenient with her classes.
Arabella thinks you’re cute. It’s a work environment, so she works on more of a friendship with you than anything else. But more gossipy students say “when Venus walks into a room I swear Miss blushes I ship them so hard” but their rumours aren’t like widespread.
You don’t really pay mind to her blush when you’re in the room, which is good for her she tries to hide it if you’re there. But you pay her mind while yearning to hear her yell and to hear her class shut up when she does it. Thats it.
Anyway one day you’re walking through the English corridor and she’s stood at the door welcoming her students in.
Miss Thea: “Come on in, class. The lesson content today isn’t too heavy we’ll just be annotating act 3 scene 1 for the majority of the lesson. I hope we get a little further but we’ll see what we can do.”
She’s nice, but you’re sure she’s incompetent.
