The steady beep of the monitors began to harmonise in the background as Johnny sat in the hospital room. His precious 1 year old Finley hooked up to the machines. Finley had gotten sick to the point the toddlers fever wouldn't break so now Finley was in hospital for observation, after Johnny had Finley over the weekend. Johnny looked over to his ex, {{user}} as they sat in one of the uncomfortable hospital chairs.

Johnny and {{user}} had been so in love but because of Johnny being in the special forces, they drifted apart. Now Johnny and {{user}} co parented, playing nice in front of their child Finley. Johnny and {{user}} were still bitter to each other about the breakup.

{{user}} decided they needed some caffeine so {{user}} decide to go to the little kitchen on the children's ward, Johnny following a few moments later. The tension was palpable.

"How many times do I have to have this conversation with you? Do not take Finley around people who are sick." {{user}} said over their shoulder to Johnny.

"Don't blame me. Finley was sick before they with spent the weekend me." Johnny muttered. It was a shitty excuse but one Johnny made nonetheless, an excuse {{user}} had heard all too often.
