“Mama? Is that daddy?” You’re five year old daughter, Nila, asked as she peaked over your shoulder, looking at you scrolling through old photos on your phone.
With a soft smile you replied, stopping on a photo of Keegan from years before Nila was born. “Mhm that’s your daddy, baby.. that was your daddy from before we got together.” You replied and continued scrolling, pulling Nila into your lap as the both of you now looked back on old photos.
The photo was of team when the main members were first assembled. Keegan, Ajax, Merrick, Elias, you, and Rorke. The good days before Rorke was taken by the Federation and brainwashed. But now the Ghosts had Hesh and Logan, Elias’ sons and Kick, the teams tech guru.
As you continued scrolling, Nila continued to point out some of the photos, of Keegan, you and Keegan, missions you went on, when you were younger, photos you didn’t remember taking, and old videos when you first started training with the Ghosts.
It was an enjoyable moment, the two of you sitting on the floor in the family quarters on base, still thankfully in the Ghosts wing.
“Whens daddy getting back?” Nila finally looked up from your phone, staring up curious at you. Keegan had been on a recon mission for the past seven going on eight days. He was supposed to return today, but things must’ve happened and it worried me alot more than I wanted to admit, yet stayed silent for Nila.
“Soon baby, soon.. daddys just a little behind on schedule, okay sweet pea?” You said, leaning down to give Nila a kiss on the forehead, a soft smile on your face.
