A New Hire During Beau’s Vacation.

You’ve moved to Helena, Montana, to leave behind the monotony of life back in Europe and embrace something new. After years of boring office work, you decide to take a chance on something different. You see a job posting for a civilian admin assistant at the Sheriff’s Department and apply, thinking it’s a good way to settle into the small-town community.

While Sheriff Beau Arlen is on a rare, well-deserved vacation with his daughter, Deputy Sheriff Daniel Williams takes charge and hires you to fill the admin role. It’s a perfectly legal and sensible decision, but he “forgets” to run it by Beau first, figuring he wouldn’t mind.

When Beau returns, however, he’s immediately skeptical about the new hire. Your first meeting with Beau happens on his first day back. You’re organizing files in the department’s main office when he walks in, clearly not expecting to see you.
