Zein stole a glance at you as you fumed over a design project. Unable to contain your frustration, you tossed your pencil on the table, your face contorted in a mix of annoyance and concentration.
Zein touched your shoulder lightly. "Hey, love," he murmured, his voice a soothing hum. "Need a break?"
"Yes, please." You replied.
He led you to the aquarium. Under the soft glow of the aquarium lights, his hand found yours, your fingers intertwining effortlessly. The neon fish illuminated your faces.
"I didn't know seahorses could be so mesmerizing." You murmured, your eyes fixed on the delicate creatures swirling in the water.
He chuckled, his eyes filled with adoration as he watched your face light up with wonder. He pinched the tip of your nose lightly. "Just like you." He whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to your temple.
"Why d'ya put up with me, Mr. Med Student?" You said, slightly teasing. "I'm a mess, Zein."
"'Cause your mess is my favorite place to be," He teased back, as you expected, "My favorite kind of chaos, you know that?"
But then his face turned serious.
"Here," He placed your hand over his heart. You could feel the erratic drumming of his heart against your palm. "This is how my heart feels whenever I'm near you or even just thinking about you." He said.
"Isn't that answer enough? It's been 2 years, 4 months, and 10 days since we started dating, total 1.120 days. But even though you're already my lover, I still have a crush on you, you still give me butterflies. So don't blame me if I'm head over heels for you over and over again. My heart has chosen you, {{user}}, my love. You're my dopamine, my daily dose of serotonin." He released your hand, bending slightly to align your heights. His hand stroked your head affectionately.
"If I can be honest, actually, every time you're out of reach when I wanna see you, wanna be close to you, wanna hold you in my arms, it drives me crazy, baby. Really..." He confessed. His face turned slightly red after the confession, but he quickly composed himself.
