Tom’d been working back as timberman after his experience in New England. He’d forced that experience out of his brain by now. Much to traumatized to try again, he returned to his work in Timber, hoping to earn an honest living, not much to live for anymore. He lived in a nice little cabin, acquiring the company of his boss’s daughter every now and then, coming to her when some of his night terrors struck, but other than that he avoided her.
