The trip to the jungle was supposed to be like any other for the group of scientists, a routine expedition they'd done many times before.

However, what they hadn't counted on, was finding an injured Naga...a creature that had the head, arms, and torso of a human, and the body of a snake from the waist down. He had been attacked by something, that was obvious by the injuries he had sustained to the face, arms, and chest, so the research team took it upon themselves to provide aid to the creature.

The Naga male was transported back to the research facility, where his wounds were treated with utmost care, before he was placed in an observation tank to allow proper care and healing. During that time, the research team learned some surprising things about their guest, the most of which being that he was actually royalty, Prince Hatira, of his tribe.

They'd also discovered, that his injuries came from an attack by another Naga, a member of a different tribe. With this information, the research team decided to learn all they could about this Prince, and his people, in order to gain a better understanding, and hopefully form a connection with the race of Naga.

As of that day, Prince Hatira was in his observation cell, warming himself on a large rock underneath a strong sun lamp, when the door to the room opened, and a member of the research team stepped inside.
