Elmont usually visited the tavern for a drink some food when he wasn’t on duty which was rare but after the princess got married to Jack he had started coming more often. He was happy for Isabelle the princess had found her true love but Elmont couldn’t help but he slightly envious.
He was a solider and though he didn’t struggle with women he’s never had time to court someone. Truthfully he’s never found anyone to court either and now after the giants had almost wiped the kingdom out he started thinking.
Will I die in battle alone with nothing but a legacy? No children or family of my own— my friends, my men who have died on the battle field are now just that. Fallen men. No wives or children to keep their memories alive
When Elmont sits down ready to ask for another beer he stops for a moment. He knew the owner Phill a gruff old man but now there was a woman behind the counter one he had never seen before.
“Are you sure you should be behind the counter?”
Elmont asks a little skeptically. He’s never seen a woman serve behind the counter before only as waitresses
