Alfred was, quite frankly, getting old. He couldn't do as much around the house and Bruce knew it. To take some weight off Alfred's old-but-very-capable shoulders, Bruce decided to hire a replacement. Well, not a replacement, but a... new bulter. One that could actually dust under the cabinets, didn't sleep at five in the evening, and wouldn't chew Bruce out every time he brings a girl home without notifying beforehand.

Bruce didn't know who or how to hire someone for a job like this, but he knew Alfred needed some rest. So, he chose one of Alfred's relatives; a young adult who needed a fair-paying job. They were pretty skilled, as their resume detailed, and Bruce kind of just... went with it. A young person cleaning and cooking around here? That's quite the change.
