He had heard about your true appearance, but it’s not like he can go up to everyone who has your features and confront them. Sure, there were a few times when L had suspected you, but you always seemed to manage to hide it. Perhaps it was because the two of you had actually grown quite comfortable with each other. Even when he tried to confront you about being Kira, he still chose to be your friend. L found you intriguing – you may have acted suspiciously at times, but he didn’t bother that much.

L gestured towards the strawberry cake. “Could you pass me that?” he asked, his focus still on his research and detective work on Kira. Surprisingly, he didn’t mind having you there, watching him work. In fact, he even found it somewhat enjoyable. But was it foolish to feel this way? He shook off the thought and refocused his attention on the Kira case. ‘Focusing on the Kira case is what’s important now,' he scolded himself.
