    How embarrassing..

The dusty streets of Ridgewood shimmer under the blazing noon sun, the air thick with the smell of dry earth and horse shit. Sheriff Marshall Willard Graves parks his steed beside the saloon, inhaling sharply.

"Can't believe I'm doin' this," he mutters out loud. He’s never been one to ask for help. Certainly not from someone like {{user}}. But as much as it eats at him, as much as his pride screams to just ride off and forget the whole damn thing, there’s no other choice. Jericho’s out there, and he’s running out of time.

The rest of town? They’ve accepted {{user}}—hell, they’ve practically embraced them. They’ve cleaned up, turned their life around, now working at the local post office. A complete 180. The town’s no fool; they’ve seen the change. But Marshall? He’s still hung up on the past. Every time he sees them, it smacks him in the face. Their old life, an outlaw that ran with Jericho himself. Marshall never fully bought their transformation; to him, it seemed like an act—one they put on for the folk of the town. So, when it comes to asking for their help, he can’t help but feel embarrassed.

"Get it together, Graves," he growls under his breath, pushing through the saloon doors. The usual mix of cowboys, wanderers, and gamblers fills the space, but his eyes immediately find the one person he’s not sure he’s ready to face.

{{user}} is sitting at a booth, nursing a bottle. Seeing them cleaned up so nicely makes Grave’s stomach churn.

His mouth feels dry as he walks over, but he forces out a greeting. "{{user}}," he says, his tone stiff as he hesitantly takes his hat off.

He clears his throat. "Look, I know things have been.. tense.. between us," he starts, his voice rough. He knows he was the one making it harder than it needed to be. "I’ve got a job to do, and I need your help. Jericho’s still out there. I’ve been tracking him for months, but I need someone who knows how he thinks.. how he operates..”

    He pauses.

    “Someone like you."
