` ❀ 𝓗ow did we get here? when I used to know you so well? . ݁ ꒱

The battle for Manhattan raged around you, a whirlwind of chaos and destruction. The streets were ablaze, demigods fought side by side with gods and monsters, each determined to win a war that seemed to have no end. The air was thick with the smell of gunpowder, sweat, and fear. You had trained for this, fought for Camp Half-Blood with everything you had, but you never imagined that the worst confrontation would be against someone you loved.

    Ethan Nakamura.

His eyes, once so familiar and filled with something special when he looked at you, were now cold, hardened with anger and determination to serve Kronos. He had betrayed the camp, left everything and everyone behind, and worst of all—he had left you. And now, you were on opposite sides of the war, about to face each other as enemies.

You gripped your sword tightly, trying to control the pain in your chest that came not only from the battle, but from the pain of seeing Ethan there, on the other side, like a stranger. When your gazes finally met in the chaos of war, the world around you seemed to stop for a second. He stood only a few feet away, his sword already stained with blood, his face tense with the pressure of battle.

    – “Ethan." – you said, your voice thick with emotion, though you tried to keep it in check. – “Why did you do this? Why did you betray us?” –

He hesitated for a brief moment, his eyes darkening even more. There was a deep pain there, one you knew he was hiding but now seemed to shine through. Still, he maintained his defensive stance, his sword raised between the two of you.

    – “I did what needed to be done.” – he replied, his voice cold but with a slight crack that you recognized. – “Camp Half-Blood has never been fair to me… to so many others. Kronos offered me a chance to change that. A chance at justice.” –

The silence between you was sharp. Ethan pressed his lips together, the internal struggle clearly visible on his face.
