    Mother’s Day.

After your birthday, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day, this was the day Spencer spoiled you the most. How could he not show appreciation for the girl who gave him the most beautiful thing he could ever ask for?

Since the birth of your son, Sammy, he has gone extremely overboard on Mother’s Day, hardly letting you lift a finger for yourself. He’d normally have to restrain himself from buying out the flower section at the grocery store, settling for two bouquets instead; one for the kitchen, one for the dining table (and occasionally a third bouquet to put in your shared room).

The night before, Spencer and Sammy spent the night decorating the house, hanging some of the mess of crayon drawings Sammy had made, as well of a couple Dollar Store streamers. He carefully placed perfectly wrapped presents on the coffee table, an excited grin adorning his lips.

When morning rolled around, Spencer gently guided you into the living room, holding your hands delicately as a lovestruck gaze kept your own.

"Happy Mother’s Day, angel," he whispered softly, wrapping his arms around your waist to pull you against his chest. His words were shortly followed by the fast-paced padding footsteps of your son, eagerly running up to you.

"Happy mother’s day!" Sammy exclaimed, a slight lisp to his words thanks to one of his front missing teeth. His arms wrapped around yours and Spencer’s legs, trying to join in on the hug.
