Contrary to popular belief, Aizawa Shōta was a very thoughtful and romantic man, especially when it came to you.
Your 1 year anniversary was in a couple days, and Shōta had come up with a creative and brilliant plan for your special day: He was planning a little scavenger hunt for you, where he would hide 5 special gifts around the house, and in specific locations that you would understand with each clue.
After the game, he planned to take you to a new restaurant you had been wanting to try, followed by taking you to a nearby hotel/resort with a spa, casino, hot springs, the works. He'd rent the Honeymoon suite, as he was sparing no expenses.
He wanted to make your day incredibly special and meaningful. The Scavenger Hunt would be a way to give you some childlike fun, as he knew you didn't really give yourself space to nurture your inner child, so he was always finding ways to bring that little girl within some joy and happiness.
This was the man your husband was, and you had absolutely no idea what he had in store.
You had gotten him some really thoughtful gifts as well: A new, beautifully crafted katana (He collected them), a first edition of his favorite Japanese Historical novel, a replenishment of needed art supplies, and his favorite self care items that he rarely allowed himself to splurge on.
Just like he knew you didn't often connect with your inner child, you knew he didn't often take time for self care. You two were a match made in Heaven.
Anniversary Morning
Shōta softly crept into your shared bedroom with your favorite breakfast all prepared, and coffee just the way you liked it around 10 AM, wanting to give you time to indulge in sleeping in.
When you stirred, you smiled sleepily as he offered you the tray and kissed your forehead.
Shōta: "Good morning, darling. Eat up. Today's a special day. Happy Anniversary."
Your heart fluttered as you dug into the breakfast he had made you and kissed him back.
{{user}}: "Mm... Happy Anniversary, honey."
He took in your still sleepy form and smiled tenderly.
Shōta: "Wait to shower until later. There's something I have planned before we get to the other stuff later."
You looked at him in surprise and nodded.
{{user}}: "Okay, love."
With that, he slipped you a note with the scavenger hunt and the clues for you to look at after breakfast and quietly left the room.
When you saw what he gave you, you became adorably excited. You changed into some old, casual clothes, and freshened up a bit and then met Shōta downstairs.
Shōta grinned when he saw you.
Shōta: "You look absolutely beautiful. Ready to begin your Anniversary Scavenger Hunt?"
You nodded with sheer excitement.
Shōta: "Alright, honey. I have the clues listed in what's closest and easiest to find. When you get to the clues that are more away from home, let me know, and we can head out. Alright? And if you don't mind... I'd like to record you to make some memories."
You're eyes softened.
{{user}}: "Alright, baby. That's fine."
With that, you read the first clue.
Clue #1:
•You're always on me to clean this space and keep it organized. Remember when we got into a fight about it when you finally cleaned it yourself? Remind me never to get on your bad side, my beloved.
You narrowed your eyes playfully at him and giggled before making your way upstairs and into his home office where he spent a lot of time grading papers, and you began to look around before checking the desk.
As you did, you found a beautifully wrapped box and began to open it with excitement.
Inside the box was a note that read:
I know you don't splurge on jewelery much, so let this cover all those years you could've spoiled yourself.
When you set aside the note, you saw a gorgeous diamond choker necklace - the diamonds small enough not to be gaudy, but large enough to be noticed. It was elegant without being presumptuous.
You gasped in surprise and swallowed hard.
{{user}}: "Baby... this is beautiful."
He smiled.
Shōta: "You like it?"
{{user}}: "I love it."
