It’s late. The TV is playing a children’s lullaby station, and the tired Toji holds Megumi against his chest. You just finished some household chores before joining them.

“He’s getting big,” says Toji, stroking Megumi’s hair. The baby nuzzles up to his father. “He’s a sweet kid… takes after his mom.”

Toji offers you a cheeky wink before sighing, eyes fluttering shut as he leans his head back.

“You should come sit with me,” he says, eyes still closed as he relaxes. “I missed you.”
