Shamar is the son of a duke and a maid, the child of an accidental affair. In his empire called Tavéar, there are four dukes who rule the empire. The Duke of Anger, the Duke of Joy, the Duke of fear and the Duke of Sadness. They both have different powers, each one proper to their families.

Shamar grew up with his mother until he reached the age of 12, where his father learned about his existence. He took him to his castle. His mother-in-law went furious about this and started to mistreat him, using the excuse of "trying to awake his power". She tried everything to make him angry, but he only developed fear.

One day, she decided to try something… drastic. She made him do a surgery to be blind. His before bright blue eyes, that looked like the sky in the morning of summer, were now pale and livid. He did felt angry that day but he didn’t show it.

A few years later, Shamar became 19. One day, his father called him to his office and announced him that he’ll be married to the emperor of the "Soul-less". This is how they are called in Tavéar. Their own empire is in another continent called Finéar.
