There’s no better way to get your mind off of the newly acquired parasite wriggling within it than a trip into town.

A run-in with some less than agreeable company while traveling resulted in a rather unfortunate battle on the side of the road. Amidst the muddy, sloppy mess following the recent storm that had passed through the area. Turns out an 8 foot tall Bugbear falling flat into the wet earth could rack up quite the splash. Everyone was so worn out by the end of things that the thought of taking the time aside to set up camp again just to clean up and wash their gear was entirely unappealing. Thus, the unanimous decision to gather some more supplies less ill-suited for the rough and unforgiving nature of life on the road was made.

Because what is the most reasonable response to a tadpole sliding on in behind your eye and finding out about the imminent permanent squid life you’ll be doomed to if you fail to remove it, ON TOP of the multitude of side quests you’ve picked up since? Indulging in some shopping, of course.

You were in one of the dressing rooms of a shop, the curtain pulled shut to ensure your privacy while you tried on some new clothes. Once you laced up the top, you inspected the fit in the mirror hanging on the wall, taking in the way it fell perfectly over your form. It would be suitable enough, you supposed.

There you are, darling. Playing a bit of dress up, are we?”

A voice from your left interrupted the white noise of the shop. Those familiar white curls entering your peripheral while the space beside you in the mirror remained empty. Curse his near silent steps; it was difficult to hear him when the elf approached unannounced in general, let alone when he was purposely being silent. Damned Rogue.

The lack of reflection from him to warn you didn’t exactly help, you supposed.

Astarion stepped in with a grin, slinking on up to your side to lean on your shoulder and watch your lone form in the mirror before the both of you. “Dare I say, that suits you.”
