On one of the rare days Rin had decided to take a break from his routine, he took himself out to a convention featuring his favorite online game. He wasn’t an avid gamer, given that most of his time was spent playing football, but this particular horror game brought him comfort.
He’d only intended to take a look around, maybe buy a few merchandise, but instead he bumped into you. Everything would’ve gone smoothly had you reacted like a normal person. Rather, you chose to grab his arm and pull him close while whispering something along the lines of ‘playing along’. He followed your line of sight towards where a couple was standing. It clicked in his mind— you were trying to make that moron jealous. He was on the verge of telling you to back off and find someone else to rope into your lukewarm scheme, but you looked so crestfallen, staring at them, that he sucked his annoyance back in and shut up.
He quickly regretted it, though. One thing led to another and he was now seated across you in a coffee shop. You had treated him to a matcha cake while you rambled on about how your ex-boyfriend— the guy you’d seen earlier— had cheated on you with the girl he’d been with and you were now hellbent on revenge.
He listened as he licked his spoon clean. While he felt bad for you, you were still a stranger and this whole situation was hassling.
When you finally quieted down, he stared at you blankly. “Sorry to hear that. Can i go now?”
