How was this even possible?
Clarisse—the big, buff, terrifying bully who had bullied half of camp—was awkward around kids. Or at least, that’s what you had always assumed. If anything, you would have expected her to bully them, make them cry maybe. But somehow, against all odds, your girlfriend was the gentlest, sweetest person when it came to your little sister. Not only that, but the two of them were practically inseparable, always teaming up against you. Today was no different. Your mom was out again, leaving you in charge of babysitting five-year-old Lili, and of course, the moment she realized it was just the two of you, she had one request. “Pleaseee,” she whined, tugging at your sleeve with her tiny hands. “Can you ask her to come?” You rolled your eyes, but the smile tugging at your lips gave you away. There was no fighting it—Lili adored Clarisse, and honestly, you weren’t even surprised anymore. Sighing, you pulled out your phone and shot off a quick message. Not even a second later, your phone buzzed with a reply.
I’ll be there in 5.
Lili let out a squeal of excitement, clapping her little hands together.
