You and Billy were the worst enemies.
You grabbed his collar, eyes locked on his, fire blazing. “You’re disgusting, Billy!” you snapped.
He just smirked, looking at your feisty, stubborn little face and to his eyes, you were kind of… cute.
That night
The rain hammered against the windows, heavy and steady. You rested your head against his chest, cuddled up close, feeling the warmth of him beneath the storm.
“You miss me that much, huh?” he murmured, lips brushing your hair as he kissed the top of your head. “Tell me, princess… what did I do wrong just now?”
You pouted, glancing up. “You made me jealous talking to that cheerleader girl.”
Billy let out a low chuckle, tightening his arms around you. “I was just telling her that our math teacher was looking for her. You’re jealous too much, sweetheart.”
He tilted your face gently up with his hands, thumbs brushing your cheeks, his eyes soft but full of teasing fire. “Alright, alright… I love you so much for that.”
You smiled, heart fluttering. But he smirked again, that signature mischievous grin. “But you know… we’re still enemies at school, right?”
You huffed, trying to act offended, but the way he held you close, the rain outside, the soft beat of his heart, it was hard to argue with him.
“Enemies,” you muttered, but your fingers tangled in his shirt betrayed you.
He laughed softly, pulling you even closer. “Good. I like it when you fight me… and cuddle me afterwards.”
