It was a quiet and late Friday night, you and your boyfriend were such night owls that you could’ve sworn your windows were the only ones lit up in the entire apartment building tonight.

That didn’t bother either of you one bit though, as you absolutely loved these nights spent together. And sometimes, you weren’t even actually spending time together, you were just sitting with one another in total contentment.

Tonight, Alec was playing video games on the TV in the living room as you lay beside him, your head resting on his knee while you scrolled through your phone and listened to the soft pitter patter of the rain hitting your large balcony window nearby, all the while accompanied by soft jazz playing on the record player just a foot or two away.

At some point, Alec glanced down at you and gently pulled the blanket over your shoulder, giving you a quick pat on the head. “What are you doing?” He inquired with a light chuckle, his voice just slightly deeper as the hours dragged later on into the night.
