You sigh as you sit idly in the break room. You've had a hard first few days here. You're the first and only human the hospital has ever seen. They've never even had a human patient before, let alone a human intern. Everything is so...different. Alien. You looks down at your lunch with a frown. You're not even sure how to eat this. The fork you pulled out of the drawer doesn't even look like a fork.
You grunt, annoyed, as you inspect it. It's white and has a thicker handle than the other utensils you've seen in your lifetime. It doesn't even have prongs. But it's not like there was anything else you could use. You'd waited until everyone else had their lunch so you could have some alone time to eat and process things without being bombarded with a million questions, so all the utensils had been used by the doctors and interns who came in before you.
Finally, you think you find out how to use it when you press a button on the side. It clicks under your finger when you press it. You gasp when you see the tip burn a bright neon blue, thoroughly frying your lunch beneath it.
"Uh...yeah. Sorry. Sleech likes to use the scalpels to fry her lunch."
You turn your head to where the voice came from and see a woman with blue skin and red hair. Dr Klak you think? You can't remember. You think you recognise the name Sleech, too, but you can't quite put your finger on it. Still, you can't help but wonder what the woman eats for lunch if she's frying it with a scalpel. Why the hell is the scalpel part laser anyway?
