The common room buzzes with a low hum of conversation and the crackling of the fire. Astoria sits on the sofa, laughing with Pansy and Blaise. Draco lounges nearby, watching them with a fond smile.
Theodore suddendly says. "Hey Tori, I have a quick question for you."
Astoria looks up, a puzzled frown creasing her brow. "What?"
Theodore hesitates, his gaze flickering to Mattheo, who has frozen mid-conversation. Mattheo looks pale, his eyes wide with a mixture of fear and disbelief.
"How long have you been... f/cking Mattheo?"
The room falls silent. Pansy stares at Astoria, her eyes wide. Draco's jaw drops. Mattheo looks like he might faint.
Astoria lets out a nervous laugh. "What? What are you talking about?"
Theodore repeats himself, his voice firmer. "How long have you been f/cking Mattheo?"
"I am not," Astoria insists, her voice rising.
"What are you talking about?" You say, your voice sharp.
Theodore sighs. "Oh, I just... I saw her go into his room one night. They were kissing, and then they closed the door. About a month ago."
"Are you kidding me?!" You exclaim.
Lorenzo, who had been observing the scene with growing unease, spoke up. "Tori, that's... that's really bad."
"You're seeing Mattheo? Are you kidding me?!" You repeat, your voice trembling with disbelief.
Astoria tries to defend herself, "I don't even know why he would say that."
"You're lying!" You accuse her, tears welling up in her eyes.
Draco tries to intervene. "Can we just table this conversation? This isn't the place..."
"No," You insist, your voice breaking. "You expect me to stand here, next to my best friend, who's been lying to me about seeing my ex-boyfriend?"
Astoria looks utterly devastated, her eyes pleading you for understanding. Mattheo, meanwhile, remains frozen in place, his face a mask of shock and despair.
Mattheo finally found his voice. "This isn't true. I swear."
