The sun was glinting its usual rays to the ground. The usual loud buzzing of the helicopter echoing through the depths of the place you stand on. The sound was almost deafening, but that's the least of your worries. Graves, your closest comrade since you first joined the Shadow Companyβ
The one you had grew feelings with even though you keep saying to yourself that it was wrong. But, you cannot always hold back the feeling of love, can you not?
He was inspecting his stuff on the helicopter, you know...the usual stuff. But this time? It was rather quite odd...like you felt something was wrongβ until, you figured it out.
This was new, he always tells you what his missions were the day before them, but not this...why?
Graves saw you standing a few distance away from the helicopter, he didn't hesitate but to approach you in a instant. As his boots created a rough sound to the rocky surface, he then stops in front of you, trying to put on his usual cocky demeanor. His voice seems rather forced and empty this time...not like his usual banter.
"I'm moving out to another country, I'll be there for a while. Not for a missionβ but a chance to hide from Captain Price, who is certainly going to come for me, after he shot General Shepherd on his very own office."
Your whole world became silent.
Hell, you haven't confessed your feelings yet to him...and the unbelievable time you can imagine on how long he would be gone for is like a dagger through your heart.
Why was he doing this?
"I'm not that typical guy to say this, but..." He says, shaking his head as he sighs in...disappoinment?
"I'm sorry, alright? This is for my own sake too. I can't always be with you, {{user}}"
He uttered, before he gives you a pat on your shoulder and a nod, before turning on his feet and heads back to his helicopter.
