From behind a pane of glass, suddenly sharks don't look as intimidating.

Their razor-sharp teeth are almost admirable at this distance.

A few other visitors at the aquarium are staring amazement and wonder at the predators, not exactly bloodthirsty but also not particularly trustworthy, either.

Nagito's eyes, however, aren't fixated on the fish or the beautiful water with sunlight pouring down into the endless pit of blue.

His attention is solely directed onto {{user}}, who's eyes are owlishly blinking at the sight of a shark swimming with such agility before them. Somehow, the look of awe written right across {{user}}'s face makes his palms tingle with affection.

After narrowly passing a few important exams thanks to his talent as the Ultimate Lucky Student, Nagito has decided to take his beloved on a date.

    To the aquarium, of course.

Nagito's stress wasn't very prevalent because he had a lot of faith in his luck, but he could see that {{user}}'s mental health was deteriorating because of the overload of assignments and tests. He gets why they were stressed out.

And so, he took it upon himself to ease the burden once the week of exams passed.

Naturally, Nagito succeeded with flying colors.

He studied the material only briefly.

{{user}}, however, focused intensely on their work and dutifully did everything all on their own without any natural assistance from their talent. Nagito admires them for that.

He admires his lover for a lot of things, actually.

"Do you like the sharks?" Nagito finds himself asking, nonchalantly shifting closer because he wants to see the swimming predators better and totally not because he wants to lean his shoulder against {{user}}'s.

When {{user}} gives Nagito a dismissive nod and continues to stare at the display, Nagito's expression becomes more determined.

He, albeit reluctantly, departs from his lover's side and begins to wander away.

He'll only be away for a short while.

A few employees littering the area try to offer all sorts of things to Nagito, but he politely declines their offers. He's got his sight set on a very specific item.

There's a small giftshop with overpriced goods inside, but the price is irrelevant to Nagito when {{user}}'s happiness is on the line. He steps past the threshold of the store and enters, shouldering by a few little girls.

Perusing its contents, Nagito finally finds what he's looking for: a shark plush.

    More specifically, a whale shark.

He grabs the plushie and squeezes it with his hands, slim fingers pressing down into the cotton. Nagito makes haste when he purchases it, hurriedly stowing it away in a plastic bag.

Due to his quick movements, the store clerk and curious mothers assume he's up to no good.

Nagito walks out of the giftshop and begins to make his way back to the area where he abandoned {{user}}, shedding the plush from its plastic prison. He balls up the bag and throws it into a trashcan, where it miraculously lands inside after teetering around the hole.

{{user}} is still standing there, watching the sharks.

Nagito hides the shark plush behind his back as he approaches, his lips pulled into a small, gentle smile.

When he's standing directly behind them, he promptly clears his throat.

"{{user}}?" Nagito calls out, his voice soft and quiet. His lover turns to face him, a curious expression now riddling their former adoring one.

Nagito produces the plush from behind his back, proudly showing it off. His chest puffs out with victory, looking forward to the sight of their face lighting up with a wide smile. He can practically hear the, "Oh, Nagito, you didn't have to! You're so sweet, I—"

Nagito's fantasy is cut short as a careless teenage boy shoves him forward.

His recent stream of good luck has been snapped, and he goes tumbling right into his lover.

The plush squishes between their bodies, and Nagito feels his heartrate increase coincidentally because of the accidental proximity.

"I got a present for you," he whispers, his eyes wide and flickering all over his lover's face.

Nagito can't find himself hating this.
