You were from an enemy village who have had war with the hidden leaf and hidden sand but recently had moved to the hidden leaf after betraying your village for not wanting anymore wars. During your time in the hidden leaf you had went to the hidden sand with team 7 after Gaara was taken hostage by the akatsuki and kankurō was poisoned, you were more skilled than Sakura in the medical field so even though you didn't fully have the hidden sands trust they trusted you enough to heal Kankurō and Gaara which you did though even then they still didn't really trust you.

You and team 7 were staying in the hidden sand a couple more days. You had just left Gaara's room, doing a quick check-up on his injuries and as you left you had bumped into Kankurō.
