The hallway was crowded between classes, noise bouncing off the lockers and students rushing to their next period. You were in a rush too, juggling your water bottle, phone, and a notebook that was barely staying tucked under your arm. One wrong step on a loose piece of paper and—your balance shifted.

You felt your feet slide out from under you, the ground rushing up fast—until a strong grip caught your wrist.

“Careful,” A voice murmured, steady and close.
